Assistant Coach Jeremy Kartel HeadshotHead men's lacrosse coach Joe Wilson announced the hiring of Jeremy Kartel as an assistant coach in November of 2020. A former lacrosse player at Aurora University (Ill.), Kartel enters his second season on staff. He most recently worked at Chatham University (Pa.) as the lead assistant/recruiting coordinator for three years.

During his three seasons at Chatham, which included the inaugural 2018 season, the team won 19 games. Kartel was responsible for the defensive and face-off units, and assisted with player development, academics, recruiting, practice plans, and administrative duties. On the recruiting trail, Kartel helped land over 60 commitments, including multiple transfers.

On the field, Kartel's face-off unit was ranked fifth in the country in 2018 (NCAA Division III). He helped six players become all-conference selections in 2018, including the Newcomer of the Year. In his second season, the team had nine all-conference selections, including three players named first team all-conference.

Prior to Chatham, Kartel was a volunteer assistant at Aurora University (Ill.). During the 2016 season, the team posted a 17-3 record, including a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play. They also advanced to the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen that season.  He assisted the head coach with player development, academics, recruiting, practice plans, and administrative duties.

A successful club coach and certified lacrosse official, Kartel graduated from Aurora in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
